My sister is 30!!!!!!!!

1st April 30 years ago, I became a big sister to this cute little baby girl known to the world as Jackie Lee. Known to me as 'the best sister anyone could ever ask for'.

It only just hit me though tonight as I was washing the dishes, she's really 30! Like I hadn't even thought of her age, or the fact this year was a milestone, or that she could ever grow up to be 30. When I gave her her card and pressie this morning, I never mentioned '30' or Happy 30th, or even wrote it in her card. It just didn't click... my sister is 30!!!!!

When I bought Jackie's pressie last week, a Lorna Jane Gift Voucher, I was struck by the packaging, I couldn't help but think "Melon Mambo" (one of our new Autumn/ Winter Mini exclusive in-colours)! On page 11 of the mini there's a lovely card using our new Manhattan Flower Impressions Folders in the Big Shot, that has a Melon Mambo ribbon. We made this at our last Paper Angels Meeting, and it matched perfectly with the voucher. I added my special sister touch 'Love you' and decorated the voucher a little, and this was what we gave Jackie for her Birthday.

Stamps: Short & Sweet

Card: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Kiwi Kiss Patterns DSP
Accessories: Baja Breeze 1" double stitched Ribbon, Melon Mambo 1/2" Polka Dot Ribbon

Happy 30th Birthday Jackie!
We love you heaps xoxoxoxo

Kingston's 2nd Birthday!

Today my nephew Kingston is 2!
I've been super lucky to have him staying here the past 3 nights with his mummy & daddy (my sister Jackie & her new hubby Jason). This morning before they left we gave him his pressie & this special 2 year old card I made for his big day!

Tools: Aqua Painter, Matt Pack (to line up eyelets in a row), Crop-a-dile, Big Shot, Junior Alphabet Sizzlits Dies (for the number 2), 2Way Glue Pen (for glitter), Adhesives including Dimensionals.

Some of you may know that my sister also likes to try her hand at paper craft when the opportunity arises... (which of course being at my place, let loose in my craft room, meant the opportunity was there)... here's the cute little card she made
for Kingston from his mummy & daddy.

Card: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze, Sweet Slumber Specialty DS

Good Morning Sunshine Bag

Here's a cute little bag I made for my hostess last weekend

Back to work!

I'd like to let all my lovely stampin' friends know, that after Easter
I will be returning to full time work (M-F).
As most of you know, we have had our house on the market for quite a while now, and we have come to the realisation that to keep our heads above water, *chuckle* (thought that was a good island joke for you) there is a real need for me to return to work.
I have been very lucky to have 7 days a week 24 hours a day to stamp when my little heart desires for the past 2 years. Please don't think the stampin' will stop just cause i won't have as many hours in the day to do it!
I'm still here, still stampin', very happy to take workshop bookings and come to your place for Stampin' Up! fun as often as you want me there! :-)
I will always be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator, and will continue updating my blog with inspiration as often as I can. I also have a wonderful group of girls in my Inspiration Angels Team who are planning classes and I will extend the invite to you all if you would like to go to their classes. Lets not forget our Paper Angels Events as well... I'll be there, and I'd love you all to be there too!
For those wondering, I will be working at my old workplace Moorooka Nissan, Hyundai, & Suzuki in Fleet Sales. Feel free to pop in and buy a car if you like! lol (Debbie can tell you how fabulous a saleslady I can be. hee hee hee. Need an upgrade Debbie? lol).

Razzle Dazzle Friends.

When the Summer Mini first came out and I fixed my eyes on 'Razzle Dazzle', I kept thinking it reminded me of a dress I used to own with a similar pattern.

Then at our last Paper Angels Meeting when we made this 12x12 page (below) using Razzle Dazzle in Bravo Burgundy it all came back to me what dress I had been thinking of.

Pretty close match I thought. Like they would say in Bali
"Same Same, but Different!"

Stamps: Razzle Dazzle (Summer Mini ends 31st March 2010), Friends 24-7
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Whisper White Craft, Bravo Burgundy/Old Olive/Pumpkin Pie Markers
Card: Bravo Burgundy, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Circle Scissors, Adhesives including Sticky Strip & Dimensionals

Featured in this layout are my 2 school friends and close friends now, Kirsten & Justine with their kids Angus & Joshua. This was taken at Elana's Christening back in 2007. I was trying really hard to find a photo of the 3 of us girls back in our school years or a photo of our 3 kids together that went with the colours of the page to include with the Christening photo, but none had the right colours in them. Mark thinks I've used the same photo twice, but I'd like to point out, they are 2 different shots if you look carefully.

Razzle Dazzle is on page 18 of the current Summer Mini catalogue and is only available until the 31st March 2010. RRP $33.95

Never more than a thought away xo

Amongst mixed feelings of excitement of all the wonderful NEW products being released on the 1st April and sadness of knowing there are only days left until all the gorgeous products currently available are no longer there in our catalogues.
I thought of this page I haven't shared with you yet.

I've fallen in love with Sahara Sand and Sepia Photos. With that combination and the saying I've used from one of the fabulous FREE Sale-A-Bration sets we have until the end of this month 'Whimsical Words', I put this 12x12 page together featuring my son, Keagan.

Stamps: Whimsical Words (Sale-A-Bration ending 31st March)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Card: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DS, Urban Oasis DS
Accessories: Baja Breeze 1" Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Paper Trimmer, Wide Oval Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Adhesives including Dimensionals

You may have seen a layout like this before (here) on my blog. I really like the effect it gives. With the many co-ordinating combinations of Stampin' Up!'s gorgeous DS Papers, this layout is unlimited how many variations you can make.

Don't miss your last chance to add our exclusive
Sale-A-Bration Stamps to your collection FREE.
These sets are only available until 31st March!

Select your FREE set when you spend $100. Click here to see the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue to select your set and email me with your order today!

note: my last order being placed before the end of the month will be on Tuesday 30th at 8pm.

News Break!

If there is a report for Missing Person in the name of Leonie, it will be Mark and my kids wondering where I am. Shhhhh don't tell them, cause I'll be happily hiding away in my craft room playing with my box of NEW goodies!

Yes, it arrived today!
My Autumn Winter goodies, including my Big Shot!
YEY!!!!!!

I'm not quite sure where to start. I'm thinking though that this box Ursula has made with the Big Shot Top Note Die could be a good thing to try making first.

Isn't it just adorable!

Now you must keep my hideout a secret okay.
I'm going to need plenty of time to spend with my new products...
I can hear them calling me now! Bye.......

A Sweet Sympathy xo

"When your heart is empty, filling it with happy memories can help" xo

Josephine May Thompson: 1/8/37 ~ 3/3/10

Known to many as 'The Cupcake Ladies', Jo & her daughter Helen were there at every market day, making so many of us happy with the simple pleasure of one of their delicious Cupcakes.

I was lucky to have known Jo over the past 2 years as my friend, neighbour, stampin' buddy, and cupcake lady!

Jo loved purple and pink. Her coffin was purple and we all wore pink and purple to her funeral. A true celebration of a bright & beautiful life. It was fitting that I made this very special card for Jo's family during this time.

Stamps: Party Hearty, Whimsical Words (Sale-a-Bration)
Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Lavender Lace
Card: Pretty in Pink, Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Accessories: Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds

he leaves a gift of memories in exchange" xo

6x6 Journey Page - Bali!

Inspired by a layout we had made as one of our make and takes at our Brisbane Regional Stampin' Up! Training late last year, I decided to create this cute little 6x6 page of one of my favourite pics from our trip to Bali. The colours match perfectly with our bedspread (bought in Bali). I've framed it as you can see, and it has a special place on my bedside table.

Stamps: Define Your Life, Defining Alphabet, Hello Again
(summer mini)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, VersaMark, Pumpkin Pie Marker
Card: Kraft, Old Olive, Whisper White, Rose Red, Good Morning Sunshine DS
Accessories: Flower Fusion flowers, Silver Brad, Button, 6x6 Frame
Tools: Stamp-a-majig, Paper Snips, Scallop Square Punch, Sanding Block, Adhesives

Did you notice the tie on the button? This was created with a thin strip of Rose Red Card.
Clever hey?

Butterfly Prints Birthday!

At our February Paper Angels Meeting we made this Beautiful Birthday Card featuring Butterfly Prints from the Summer Mini.

Stamps: Butterfly Prints (Summer Mini), Happy Everything
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Kiwi Kiss
Card: Bravo Burgundy, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Bella Rose DS
Accessories: Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon
Tools: Circle Scissors Plus (summer Mini), Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Snips, Butterfly Punch (summer mini), Stamp-a-majig, Piercer, Adhesives.

Don't you love the scallop edge created around the large circle? Wondering how you can do this? I've put together some photos and instructions for you below.

1. Punch a long strip (A4 long side) of Card with the Scallop Edge Punch
2. Snip between each scallop from flat side 3/4 way so you don't snip right off.

3. Gently start creating a curve.

4. Put Adhesive right around the outside edge of your circle (on the back) and slowly adhere your scallop edge around the circle.

I've also had a few questions about the Circle Scissors Plus, and whether it is difficult to use. I love it, and after Liz showing me how to use it at our meeting, I find it very easy to use (unlike other horrible circle cutters I've tried in the past!). The circle scissor is so quick and easy, and makes a simple layout look a bit more special.

I only wish I had the skills to create a video tutorial to show you how great the Circle Scissors Plus is. Lucky for me though, some other SU demonstrators have done just this and I am able to include this great tutorial for you to watch on YouTube. Click here.

The Circle Scissors Plus and Glass Mat are sold separately. You can see them on the last page of the Summer Mini. For a real bargain, you might like to purchase my Circle Scissor Bundle...available only until the end of this month!

Reminder... there are only 2 weeks left to stock up
on your Summer Mini favourites!

Creating Cards with Carla!

I was so lucky to have my friend Carla come over and stay the weekend (she would say she was even luckier, as she got to come child free! hee hee hee). We had plenty of time to relax in the craft room and at our leisure create some cards! (That was in between the many interruptions from my kids though, it wasn't child free for all damn it!)
Here's a few of the cards we created over the weekend together...

This was an idea I had stored away in which I can't remember where I had first seen this. It's a great way to use up your DS scraps (1cm strips). You could guarantee you would never get 2 cards looking the same with this one!

Stamps: (L) Best Yet (level 1 hostess), (R) Seeing Spots
Ink: (L) Almost Amethyst, (R) Basic Grey, So Saffron
Card: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Tea Party DS
Accessories: (L) So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon, (R) Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Bling
Tools: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Adhesives including Dimensionals.
(L) made by Leonie (R) made by Carla

This next card was my little invention I was busting to try out after making the menus in the easel card style for my sister's wedding. Carla and I created the card front, then with a little trial and error I came up with the measurements for the base of the card to get the easel effect.

Stamps: Butterfly Prints (summer mini), Whimsical Words (Sale-a-Bration free set)
Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip
Card: Regal Rose, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Always DS, Pink Pirouette Patterns DS
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Bling
Tools: Paper Trimmer with Scorer Blade, Butterfly Punch (summer mini), Eyelet Border Punch, (L) Designer Label Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, (R) Wide Oval Punch, Adhesives including Dimensionals
(L) made by Leonie (R) made by Carla
You may have seen this card design before, it was one from a set of 4 at a recent Stamp-a-Stack class of mine. I just changed the colours. Carla wanted a B'Day card for a friend who loves purple, so we came up with this...

Stamps: Circle Circus, Life Definitions
Ink: Lavender Lace, Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant
Card: Always Artichoke, Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon, Brads
Tools: Wide Oval Punch, Piercer (for brads), Adhesives including Dimensionals

Now there is a story with these last 2 cards. Carla and I spotted this idea made by Marelle Taylor. We thought we would give it a go, so we googled to find the instructions how to tea bag fold the circle punch to get the petals. All good so far. We both folded our petals, and for some reason my 8 petals would not join to make a circle, AAARRRGGG! Mine were too skinny. Carla's were perfect. I tried re-folding them, but I will admit, this was one of those very rare occasions, when It got the better of me, and I gave up! Carla loved it so much, she took over making mine, so I can say, both of these gorgeous cards were made by Carla! (with me sitting on the side sulking. )

Stamps: Sincere Salutations
Ink: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Card: Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DS
Accessories: Rose Red 1" Ribbon, Crystal Brad
Tools: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Piercer for brad, Adhesives including Dimensionals.

Stay tuned for more projects from our weekend coming your way!

For the Bride & Groom xo

Here is the wedding card I made for
my sister Jackie and her Husband Jason
on their Wedding Day!
6th March 2010
(Yesterday!)

Yes, it matches perfectly with the invites, and table decorations etc... of course! :-)

Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Ink: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom
Card: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Bling (centre of flowers)
Tools: Scissors, Stamp-a-majig, Adhesives including Dimensionals.
(This is the card on page 94 of the 09/10 IBC, in different colours)

I made this card for valentines day, it's a favourite of mine.
I've personalised it in Jason and Jackie's wedding colours for them.

Did anyone notice another colour in there that hasn't been part of any of the wedding bits til now? Blush Blossom. It is the perfect match to our Bridesmaid dresses,
making it the perfect addition to my card.

Congratulations to Jason and Jackie on their special day xoxo
It was such a beautiful wedding.
I will share a photo of the stunning bride and her handsome groom with you soon.

Wedding Time!

Why are things a little quiet around here? No Classes last month, not too many blogs happening... why... it's the final count down for my Sister's Big Day! This Sat, the 6th March, my sister becomes a Mrs
and I get myself a Brother-in-Law!
The past week I've been busy making 80 name place cards for the tables, as well as table numbers. The invitations we made were Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, and Choc Chip.
(Check them out by clicking here if you like.)
Naturally all the table settings are these colours too.
Here are some of the name place cards...

Being that this is a Military Wedding, Jackie has painted little army soldier figurines in gold to sit near the place cards. Alongside that there will be a cute little bag of Chocolate Bullets. I'll try to get a photo of these to show you after the wedding.

Today I created my creation of all creations... hee hee hee. I'm a bit proud. Jackie asked me if I could think of a way of making menus that could stand on the tables. Other than a plate stand for them, I was a little stumped. Until I came up with this!

Cool hey? I made a few samples first with scrap card stock until I got it just right. The idea was based around an easel card, but in a much different scale. I started with the size of the menu on the Vanilla and worked the rest of the measurements around that.

Remember the little Build-a-Brad Crowns on the invites? Here they are again. They got so many comments from those invited, I couldn't resist to have them on the tables too!

Well we are off in the morning on our exciting venture to Sydney. There won't be much posting going on while there, although I may try to sneak a quick blog in of the Card I made for Jason & Jackie's Day (it matches too of course).

Catch you all when I'm back. Get ready for some serious stamping when I'm back on track!
