2 favourite swaps from Convention 2010

I've been busting to share with you these 2 swaps which stood out as a couple of my favourites from Convention in Sydney this year.

My all time favourite is this cute Punch Panda!

Isn't he soooo cute? I fell in love with him so much, that although I didn't have any swaps myself, when I swapped this one on Liz's behalf, I begged her cold I please keep him. (of course she said yes, thanks Liz xo).

I also liked the clever Pansies on this card made with the Butterfly Punch.

Crafting with my Sister!

This card features our new Two-Step Bird Punch in our Autumn/Winter Mini

Jackie also made this lovely gift for a friend's little girl's 2nd Birthday, so she can add a photo and hang it straight on the wall. Using the layout I have been using LOTS of times and personalising it with Sophia's name. How did she do the name???? Oh with the BIG SHOT!!!!!!! Pretty cool hey? I can see me using this heaps for personal gifts and scrapbooking titles etc. The number 2 on the card is made with the BIG SHOT too!

Jackie added Dazzling Diamonds all over the letters 'Sophia' and the number '2' to give it a little girl feeling, it made it all sparkly and cute, the glitter doesn't show up much in the photos.

I'm sure it will look great in Sophia's room. I think I might order one from Jackie for Elana's room next!!!! ;-)

Tools: Wide Oval Punch (Body), Large and Small Oval Punches (Ears & Feet, also basket handle & eggs), Crop-A-Dile (large hole for the toes), Word Window Punch (Ears & fence), 1/2" Circle Punch (cheeks), Trio Flower Punch (trimmed to be nose), Round Tab Punch (basket), Adhesives including Dimensionals.

I always get that "Awww that's so cute" feeling whenever I finish making punch art!

This Friday, the 26th February, is my mum's 60th Birthday!

While in Sydney last week my sister & I surprised mum with a Tall Ship Sunset Cruise on the Harbour. It was such a lovely experience to share with her to say "Happy Birthday Mum, we love you!" 3 girls, an old sailing ship, some spunky sailors, a BBQ dinner with a few glasses of wine, and the sun glistening on the harbour as it set behind the bridge! WOW.

I was going to try to make a card for mum that went with the Tall Ship theme, but each idea I came up with felt too masculine. I wanted to make mum a card that expressed mum in the way I think of her, 'nurturing with love'. So I made this...

Kangaroo Card Punch List:

5 Petal Flower = ears

Large Oval = head & legs

Wide Oval = body & tail

1" Circle = mouth

Heart to Heart = nose, heart in pouch, heart decorations

Trio Flower = hands

Word Window = feet

The background is from Pink Flamingo DS. I've used Real Red Striped Ribbon, added some googly eyes to give my mummy Kangaroo character, used dimensionals behind the pouch and nose to bring her to life, and the '60' on the heart was handwritten in white gel pen.

Inspiration for making the Kangaroo came from Paula Curtis.

Paper Angels Group November Challenge - Punch Art!

Once a month the Paper Angels get together

for some sharing of ideas,

we make 2 make and takes,

bring along our creations to share,

and even have a monthly challenge to join in if you wish.

For November our Challenge was Punch Art...

I had a ball creating my entries, here they are...

This is my little girl in her Jo Jo the Clown suit.

The Jo Jo character was my Punch Art entry as part of this 6x6 page.

The DS Papers are from Pink Flamingo, and the 'Happy' saying is from Chit-Chat rub-ons in the new Summer Mini!

Above are my 2 Christmas tags I entered. I must say these are my favourites, I have decided to make a few extras to decorate my gifts to add my personal loving touch under the tree this year! The back of the tags are white with Season's Greetings stamped,

and the ribbon to tie my tags to the gifts is

Stampin' Up!'s adorable Red Gingham Ribbon.

These punch Art designs were inspired by Mercedes Weber.

My Paper Angel...

and might I add the 1st prize winner in our Challenge WOO HOO!

She was a little tricky in the making, and after about 3 bodies ended up in the bin, I eventually got her just right, and must admit was pretty impressed with the end result if I do say so myself! lol. This little angel is made from the Scallop Circle, 1 3/4" Circle (to cut the wings from the Scallop), 1" Circle, and the 3/4" Circle punches. Her wings & dress have 2 way glue pen all over them with Dazzling Diamonds, and I coloured her dress gold with a Gold Encore Pad and Sponge Dauber! The trick to getting her dress to fold right is using a ruler and scorer to create the lines where you want the folds to fall!
